Our Little Family

Paula and Paulina

We got Paula, October 2005 and we got Paulina October 2006. Richard loves to play with them all the time. Paula is very nice with kids, she might be rough on us or to grown up people sometimes but she is very gentle with Richard. When Richard was still very little, she doesn't want to get near him, worried that she might hurt him. Now that Richard can go around the house, he approaches the dogs sometimes and grab them tightly, Paula won't move. Paula, when it comes to hear bone, treat or toy, she doesn't want anyone to get near them but Richard can grab it anytime without her complaining. When it comes to Paulina, she is very skittish since we got her. She run or get away when Richard is about to touch her. She has longer hair so it probably hurt more when Richard grabs her hair.

Our Family in the US

Here are some of our family member here in the US.

Our Family in the Philippines

Here are some of our family members back in the Philippines and hopefully Mama and most of my siblings will be here by this year.

About Richard

As you all know, Richard is our handsome and cute little son ;) and as a proud mom, I'm just gonna brag a little bit about him. He was born here in Great Falls, he was supposed to be due July 17 but he came out late, he was born July 20th. The time he was born was 8:55pm which is July 21 at 10:55am in the Philippines. So basically, we have the same birthday. He was born with pneumonia, the doctors said I might not be able to feed him for 10 days but the following day, he was strong already to eat. For a day and a half they feed him using a machine, the night before I checked out they let him eat directly from me. It was so nice to held him. He was so alert since then, he always stare at people who came visit him. Even the nurses keep saying that too and all our doctors visit, they had fun with him becuase he always seems to be always listening and paying attention to them. Before he was born, we have been watching DVD's given by the nurse that visit me. Our comments to those videos, all the babies look so colorless and dead so we are expecting him to be the same but when he came out his color was perfect. He really looked like a real person. Despite of not getting enough sleep since he was born, I am just so proud of him, he is so smart. Everyone adores him, he's a flirt too and he's famous because he's really really cute and because of his hair. Apparently, here in the US, most babies are born with no hair but they are all cute, it's just that my baby is the cutest, hehehe. Paul and I love him so much.

A Grand New Start

Life is always changing, and change means working hard to keep up. The last few years have been all about change in our family. just over two and a half years ago Shawn (Sugar) and I were married in The Manila Temple in Quezon City, Philippines (Oct 19, 2004). 4 months after our marriage, I was deployed to Iraq (Feb 2005), just after finishing Sugars immigration paperwork to come to the USA. After my 7 months of Combat Convoy Escort Duty in Iraq, I arrived a day after Sugar did in Great Falls Montana (Oct 6, 2005).

From that day forward, it has felt like life in fast forward. I began going back to college, Shawn became pregnant, and I decided to finish my service in the Air Force. Our first baby boy, Richard, was born in July 2006. What a wonderful blessing to have him in our lives. I had started working at my new job the day prior to his delivery. It was a hard labor, and we spent 10 days after in the hospital waiting to take our baby Richard home.

My new job working as the Network Administrator/IT support/Tech Coordinator for a local School District, has given me a lot of experience. From building and securing their networks, to mentoring students, I sure enjoy working for them. If the pay was a little better, I would stay but I need to find a job closer to where we live, with Gas Prices on the rise.

Messy Face Richard.
