Christmas 2008

This is the first gift, so they both think it's theirs and fight about it but they realize later that there are more gifts. So in the end, sisi wins on getting the first gift. ;)

Blessings of Baptism

Today, I gave another talk. Well, it's been more than two years since my last one. This time I was pretty sure I will not get nervous, because I know most of the member there now but as I got to church I just starting shaking. At least, I'm done for now, maybe the next time will be in another year or two again, hehe...

Our Pioneer Handcart Adventure

We start heading to Wyoming Wednesday afternoon after my husband and his sister picked up their mom and brothers from the train station. Then around midnight, just about 15 miles away from Casper Wyoming, after I saw a deer that was close to the highway we stopped to rest and we tried to sleep in the car. The following day, since it was uncomfortable sleeping in the car, we got up at 6am and start heading to our destination which is Mormon Pioneer National Historic Trail near Independence Rock. We all have to be there by 11:30am. Then we got dress, there are missionaries there that are incharge of the place and they instructed us on some of the things that we should do and warned us about rattle snake. We had our first trek (basically walking in the desert pushing handcarts) that day for 2 hours, it was not fun, it was hot and dusty and tiring but we did not go there for fun, we went there so we could understand better what the pioneer went through. Friday, is our longest trek, almost the whole day. Saturday, finally, our last trek then we will be able to go home and TAKE A SHOWER, hooray!!!! In our camp, there was no shower but my husband said that is what camping is all about ;) Wednesday was our last shower, then Thursday, we were hoping to find a place that we can take a shower but we found none. So that day after our first trek, since there was a pump in the camp site, we use our bucket to get some water hoping we can wash ourself a little. They said you can wash anything as long as it's far from the pump because the water we use might go back in the ground to the pump again and we will be using dirty water. Anyway, we tried to wash our hair and hands and legs, it was out in the open so we can't really take a real bath. Beside the water was freezing cold, I actually had a headache after I washed my hair and I had to drink tylonel that morning. Friday, we planned better, we left one of our bucket behind and filled it with water and left it outside our tent, so after our trek that whole day, we will have some warm water to use, and that is what we did. We were also able to wash a little in the river that day, it was jsut a lot of sand but the warm water from our bucket really felt good. Anyway, from day one, the missionaried keep telling us to watch out for snake, we did not saw any until that last day. There were three of us geeting behind, Amaree, Shellena and me. I was slow and they don't want to leave me behind so the three of us saw that rattle snake, it was a little scary but at least they make noise so we can stay away from them. Have fun with the pictures ;) I was not able to take a lot because they told us to try and make this a spiritual trip, so I just sneak a camera on the first day ;)
